Baseball Divisions
Instructional Baseball Divisions (4U - 8U)

4U Foal T-Ball

Ages 3-4
  • Teams formed based on coach and parent teammate requests.
  • Requests are encouraged, but not guaranteed.
No changes allowed after uniforms have been ordered.

Ages 5-6
  • Team formation is based on teammate and coach requests.
  • Focus is placed on fundamentals and base running.

  • Teams are formed through requests to help keep friends and neighborhoods together.

Draft Divisions (10U - 14U)

10U Mustang

Competitive
  • Coaches may retain a maximum of four (4) players.
  • Teammate requests must be reviewed by the drafting committee.
  • Players must attend scheduled evaluations.

Baseball Bat Rules

Official 2024 PONY Baseball Equipment Standards

Approved Bat Standards

PONY Baseball has adopted the USABat standard. All bats must bear the appropriate licensing mark to be legal for play.

USA BASEBALL All 2-1/4", 2-1/2", and 2-5/8" bats with minus factors (-5, -7, -9, etc.) must have the USABat Stamp.
BBCOR .50 All -3 (drop 3) bats must be BBCOR Certified and stamped accordingly.
  • Prohibited: 2-3/4" barrel bats are strictly prohibited in all divisions.
  • Colt/Palomino (16U/19U): Only 2-5/8" barrel -3 BBCOR certified bats are allowed.
  • Thorobred (23U): Wooden bats only (per MLB specifications).
  • T-Ball: Must carry the "Only For Use With Approved Tee Ball Bats" mark and be used only with safety balls.

⚠️ Illegal Bat Penalty

Plate Meeting: Coaches will be asked to confirm that all players are legally and properly equipped. It is the responsibility of the coach to ensure equipment compliance.

Penalty: If a player uses an illegal bat, the result is an automatic out and the game will be played under protest.

Disciplinary Action: The Executive Board will be notified and will determine if further action is warranted, including game suspension and/or an automatic loss.
